Waring CB15 and CB15T Product Review I have used the Waring CB15T for many years in high volume kitchens and here in this review I will demonstrate the math we used to justify the cost of the Waring CB15T as well as the functions we like. First, we use the Waring CB15 to make 5 gallon preps of carrot ginger salad dressing (two ingredients that require a high power motor like the Waring CB15 3.75 hp) as well as 1 gallon preps of cranberry salsa, 1 gallon preps of French mustard and 3 gallon preps of leek soup. It is important to need the kind of power the Waring CB15 or CB15T provide for more than one prep item to help justify the cost. We take our average prep cook hourly wage as well as the time it takes to make these recipes without the size and power of the Waring CB15 to see how long it takes to pay for itself. The more recipes that can utilize the CB15 or CB15T obviously the faster you get a return on your investment. Our calculations proved to us that the Waring CB15T would pay for itself in four months by speeding up our weekly prep labor costs by 6 hours over one week. Considering we have had the unit for well over 5 years the Waring CB15 has paid for itself many times over.
To help you determine what model Waring CB to get let me offer this advice. Stick with either the CB15 or the CB15T due to the easy to use touch pad as well as the slow start features both have. The Waring CB15 does not have the timer the CB15T does and I must admit I very much like that feature. When perfecting a recipe you can add to the prep instructions exactly how long to blend to get the exact consistency you like every time. This also allows your prep cook to set the timer and work on something else (like cleaning their stations). Ok that might be wishful thinking but it certainly helps the finished product look the same each and every time. Another thing I like about the Waring CB15 and CB15T is the slow start feature. This is ideal to let the products slowly come together before being pulverized and insuring even distribution of herbs or spice. Being able to use hot ingredients is key too and the Waring CB15 and CB15T allow for hot products because of the sturdy stainless steel container and lock-down lid. Please be careful as hot products expand and when you release the lid you can easily make a mess or get a steam burn. Overall, if you want to speed up prep there is no unit that compares to the Waring CB15 or CB15T 3.75HP blenders with one gallon containers. I hope this review helps and always enjoy the food!
